Feb. 27 – Pre-prehistoric, Roman and Medieval artefacts, Numismatic and stone artefacts, antique vases, pottery and coins. Archeology brings Trento closet to Egypt, thanks to the Cultural Councilor of the Autonomous Province of Trento, Tiziano Mellarini, who met yesterday the Minister of Antiquities of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Mamdouh El Damati. El Damati was accompanied by Mostafa Mostafa Amin, Secretary General of the Council of Egyptian Antiquities. Today, the three representatives are expected to sign an agreement with the Rovereto Civic Museum to enhance Egypt’s archaeological heritage. “It’s an important moment for culture in our province – commented Mellarini – which sees us open to large projects, moved by a desire to be dynamic and to internationalize. With this agreement, our cultural context will be enriched by a precious piece that hints to the huge Egyptian cultural heritage, a land that has given the world wonderful examples of architecture, engineering and artistic works that are still widely appreciated for their ingenuity. This mode of exchange and scientific collaboration – concluded Mellarini – wants to open Trentino and its local museum network to global synergies. This is a concrete example of how culture knows how to open the horizons and link distant lands and traditions.” (Red)
