Brooklyn – The University of Pisa is the first Italian university to use a kickstarter campaign. On February 23, VIPER, a hi-tech product developed within the Internet delle Cose, made its debut on the most important crowdfounding platform in the world. Behind the simple idea there are Daniele Mazzei of the Piaggio Center, Giacomo Baldi of the Hospital University of Pisa, Gualtiero Fantoni and Gabriele Montelisciani from the Department of Civil and Industrial Engineering. The project will remain online for 30 days, with a total crowdfunding goal of $20,000 to finalize the product and ensure its industrial production. VIPER is a device featuring a set of softwares that promises to revolutionize and simplify our daily lives: it can help people monitor their own homes without having to make tracks in the walls. Its level of detail will allow the customer to see if the dog is thirsty, if the children came home safely from school, if the heating is on, or if we absentmindedly forgot to turn off the gas.
