Bayqoñır – Organic food without salt: this is the main characteristic of a very special menu, prepared on earth but consumed in space by Samantha Cristoforetti, the Italian astronaut on board the International Space Station. “Space food”, with a focus on “AstroSamantha,” is the theme of a seminar entitled “Space food for earthlings. From the ISS to Earth,” scheduled for Thursday, March 5 at the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna (at 9:30am in classroom 6). The event is part of the cycle of seminars “Towards Expo: ideas, routes and rules for food.” The meeting will be an opportunity to learn about one of the most unusual food experiences there are, with a distinct science fiction feeling. The menu will presented by David Avino and Stefano Polato, respectively managing director and head of “Space Lab food” by Argotec, as well as official chef of the Futura mission. (9Colonne)
