Nanjing – The three Settegrani brothers, who used their surname for the name of their band – 7Grani, are from the province of Como. And from Como they reached the East, thanks to a very particular song. “Ragazza di Nanchino” is inspired by the story of the 1937 Nanjing rape, carried out by the Japanese who had invaded China and were conquering the then-capital Nanjing, committing heinous crimes against women, children and old people. Ragazza di Nanchino is thus a song dedicated to all women who are victims of violence – and it attracted the attention of Chinese state television, which devoted to it a lengthy segment during the news.
