Peja – On Wednesday morning, the military base Villaggio Italian in Peja, Kosovo, also headquarters of the Multinational Battle Group West, hosted the changing of the guard ceremony of the Gruppo Supporto Aderenza (GSA), from the Maniago Logistics Battalion Ariete (PN) to the 8th Transportation Regiment from Remanzacco (UD). Lieutenant Colonel Marco Vantaggi releaves Lieutenant Colonel Enzo Dursi from the command of the GSA. The Maniago Logistics Battalion Ariete, reinforced by elements from other units – including the Department Mobile Means from Maddaloni (CE) – carried out six months of intense operational activity and now returns to Italy. The Battalion was involved in many activities of the Civil-Military Cooperation in favor of capacity building projects directed to local institutions. Some of these activities include certified courses for disinfectors of various local structures, including the Hospital of Peja, and the distribution of materials and equipment donated by NGOs in favor of the local population. The Battalion also carried out important improvement works on safety devices installed at the Visoki Decane monastery. (9colonne)
