Apr. 1 – Venice and Rome, but also Matera – the European Capital of Culture for 2019 – and other centers in Basilicata are the destinations of young Chinese couples on their honeymoon thanks to the “Mirabilia” project, which manages a network of UNESCO sites of the territories of 13 Italian Chambers of Commerce and offers a real opportunity to bring a positive impact to local businesses who cater to married couples. 8 million marriages are celebrated each year in China, of which 170,000 only in Beijing. The president of the Chamber of Commerce of Matera, Angelo Tortorelli, Vice president Pasquale Lorusso, Secretary General Luigi Boldrin and Vito Signati, director of the special agency Cesp discussed the topic during a meeting with some members of the film crew for ” Marry Me ”, led by entrepreneur Yan Wang, president of the Italy China Friendship Association. The Chinese guests brought to Matera a couple of actors to shoot a promotional video, to raise awareness on those places in which to spend an unforgettable honeymoon. After Venice and Rome, Matera is the other international city inserted in this particular dream-tour dedicated to young Chinese couples. “The project – said in a statement of the Chamber of Commerce of Matera – which saw the contribution of the Basilicata-based company International Chamber of Sisters, is a collaborative effort that was born with dynamic entrepreneur Wang Yan and the Basilicata Region after signing a memorandum of understanding with ICFA. The ‘Marry me’ video was shot on location, with Blue Video, and it will be released in 36,000 Chinese cinemas on 2 April. The parties agreed to look into the organizational aspects of the “honeymoon in Matera” offer, with an exchange of visits scheduled – if possible – at the same time as two major trade shows dedicated to weddings scheduled in China in May and late September.” “We are very happy – said the vice president of the Chamber of Commerce Lorusso – of the project for the effects that it could have on local businesses, for its positive effect on relations with China, and for the boost it can give to the holiday weddings sector”.
