London – The weakening of the euro and the economic growth of countries such as the UK, Ireland, Switzerland, the United States and France could bring to Sardinia a considerable increase of international arrivals: over 30 thousand tourists, or 3,1% more than 2014. In particular, the international situation is positively impacted in terms of arrivals from the United Kingdom, where the appreciation of the pound should lead to 12.000 more arrivals (+15% compared to 2014): in short, in 2015 tourism in Sardinia will speak mostly English, and, more specifically, British English. This was revealed by a statistical analysis of the CNA Sardinia that looked at the tourism data of the past five years by country of origin, and the latest IMF forecasts for different national economies and exchange rates.
