London – The mapping of genetic mutations continues to improve human health, with new tools and instruments. This is why University of Florence researchers developed a software to identify the presence of DNA mutations in places that had not yet been recognized. The study is coordinated by Alberto Magi, researcher within the Department of Experimental and Clinical Medicine, and Gian Franco Gensini, Professor of Internal Medicine. The results have been published in the latest issue of BMC Genomics (under the title “Characterization and identification of hidden rare variants in the human genome,” DOI: 10.1186 / s12864-015-1481-9).
