Montreux – After two convincing matches against China U23, the Italian women’s volleyball team, led by Marco Bonitta, returns to the field today at 6.30pm to face Germany in the first day of the Montreux Volley Masters. The Swiss tournament, which serves as the first opportunity each year for the best teams in the world to meet and compete, gives the Italians a chance to accumulate experience in view of the forthcoming important commitments, most notably the European Games in Baku and the World Grand Prix. After Germany, the Italians will face Turkey on May 28 and Japan on May 29. Coach Bonitta has chosen Camera and Malinov as setters; Calloni, Folie, Melandri and Pisani as middle blochers; Sorokaite, Loda, Sylla, Guerra, Egonu, and Perinelli as hitters; and Parrocchiale and Spirito as libero.
