June 2 – The history of migration in 200 songs: this is Eugenio Marino’s “Andarsene sognando,” published by Cosmo Iannone Editore. The book looks into the migration phenomenon that affected Italy over the centuries: from the internal migration of ” Piemontesina” and “Ciau Turin” to the songs of the more contemporary “brain drain” born and spread on YouTube. The book explores lyrics by Carosone, De Gregori, the “Genovese school”, De Andrè, Guccini, as well as Caparezza, Rino Gaetano, Dalla, Fossati and many others. Eugenio Marino, who is currently presenting the book around the world, is in the US and Canada. In 8 days, he will visit 8 cities on the East Coast and the West Coast. The first meeting will be on June 4 in Philadelphia, followed by New York and Boston. The author will then move to Canada: on June 7 he will be in Montreal, the following day in Ottawa, on June 9 in Toronto, then in Vancouver. On June 11, Marino returns to the US for a final stop in Los Angeles. (Cle)
