Stabio – The Italian Railway Network (Rete Ferroviaria Italiana – RFI) has awarded a new contract to complete the works to double the Arcisate – Stabio (Switzerland) connection. The contract was given to the Rome-based company SALCEF at the end of the negotiated procedure tender opened following the current Code of Contracts, which calls for this type of tender in case of a previously-deserted race. Meanwhile, the Italian Railway Network is working to reopen the yards in July, at the conclusion of the verification of legal requirements for the final allocation of the contract. (9colonne)
