Kyoto – To mark the 40th anniversary of the prestigious international journal Theoretical Computer Science (TCS), Professor Antonio Restivo of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Palermo will receive an award for being among the five authors with the greatest number of published articles in the magazine. Restivo is the only Italian to receive the award. The creation of the journal Theoretical Computer Science helped define in the 1970s a new research area, Theoretical Computer Science. Restivo has published a total of 34 papers for TCS, the first of which appeared in the first issue of the magazine, back in 1975. Many of these articles had a big impact in the development of Theoretical Computer Science, as testified by the high number of citations he received over the years. The award ceremony will take place during the International Conference on Automata, Languages and Programming scheduled in Kyoto for July. (9Colonne)
