Gothenburg – After the positive experience in Bergamo in September 2014, the Lombardy Region has organized a side-event on the involvement of civil society in education for sustainable development. The event, organized for 30 June in collaboration with Catalonia within the network “Four Motors for Europe,” is part of the World Congress on Environmental Education in Gothenburg (Sweden). “The event – said the Councilor for the Environment, Energy and Sustainable Development Claudia Maria Terzi, who participated in the congress – is part of a wider program of work which, until July 2, sees the participation of more than 800 people from 75 countries involved in exchanges of experiences and discussions on the theme of environmental education.” The regional governments of Lombardy, Catalonia and Flanders presented their experience in the promotion of environmental education programs, with particular emphasis on partnerships with civil society, associations, and foundations in implementing policies for sustainable development.
