London – It looks like common crystalline powder, but inside it’s crossed by microscopic channels, a hundred thousand times thinner than a human hair. This is called AzoPORE, a new molecular material capable of selectively absorbing carbon dioxide and releasing it when exposed to sunlight. AzoPORE was designed, built and then tested – refers an article published by the scientific journal “Nature Chemistry” – by a team of researchers from the Department of Chemistry “G. Ciamician” at the University of Bologna, coordinated by Massimo Baroncini, Fabrizia Grepioni and Alberto Credi, and from the Department of Material Sciences of the University of Milan-Bicocca, coordinated by Angiolina Comotti.
