New Delhi – “The decision of the Government of India to take part in the international arbitration initiated by Italy was announced today by its representative at the hearing. This, combined with the decision of the Supreme Court, without any opposition from the Indian government, to renew for another 6 months the stay in Italy of Navy Rifleman’s Latorre, confirms the consolidation of the arbitration started by Italy on June 26,” reads a note from the Foreign Ministry. “Italy is preparing all necessary measures to allow the return to Italy of Navy Rifleman’s Salvatore Girone”.
