Cairo – A few days after the important gas discovery made by Eni in the Nile Delta, the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of Egypt, Sherif Ismail, met with the CEO of the Italian company, Claudio Descalzi. The two, in the presence of Egyptian prime minister, Ibrahim Mahlab, and the Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, signed a deal to incorporate the framework agreement of March 2015. The new deal includes a commitment to jointly explore the development opportunities of the discovery, and renegotiates the contract terms and the extension of the concession. (9Colonne)
