(7 August 2015) Major General Francesco Paolo Figliuolo, after eleven months, handed over the command of the KFOR mission to Major General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta, who now assumes the post of 20th Commander. The ceremony was presided over by Commander of JFC Napoli, Admiral Mark E. Ferguson III, in the presence of the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga and numerous military, civil and religious authorities. In his farewell speech, General Figliuolo stressed that “the security situation in Kosovo has improved in the last year thanks to the work of the military and of the KFOR and thanks to dialogue and cooperation with all other internal and external actors.” General Miglietta, who takes office today, comes from the Army where he served as Chief of the General Planning Department and Finance Department. While General Figliuolo returns to the Chief of Staff of the Army as Chief of the Logistics Department IV.
