7 July, 2015 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga, met yesterday morning the Commander of the Kosovo Forces XIX Major General Francesco Paolo Figliuolo at Camp Film City, the headquarters of the multinational NATO force in Kosovo. The President and Major General Figliuolo had a private meeting in which they discussed the latest developments concerning the safety and socio-economic situation in Kosovo. The President also received a briefing on the most important activities that KFOR is carrying out at the moment. During the face-to-face, President Jahjaga and MG Figliuolo agreed on the importance of achieving normalization through a comprehensive approach involving the representatives of the international community through dialogue and cooperation. “Kosovo – said President Jahjaga – has built a democratic and friendly society and is working to promote peace and stability throughout the region. We remain focused on dialogue on the implementation of the Brussels Agreement, which makes people’s lives easier, normalizes relations between two countries, and brings them closer to the euro-Atlantic integration.” According to MG Figliuolo, “the stabilization process is progressing in the right direction, which is why KFOR will continue to ensure its commitment until the effects of the Agreement will be irreversible.” MG Figliuolo and President Jahjaga agreed that cooperation between KFOR and Kosovo institutions will continue in the future.
