31 August, 2015 – Enel Green Power has won the right to sign twenty-year contracts in energy sales in Brazil for a total of 553 MW for three new solar projects: Horizonte MP (103 MW), Lapa (158 MW) and Nova Olinda (292 MW). The capacity, awarded through a public tender, adds to the company’s operational presence in the country and makes Enel Green Power the main player in the entire solar industry of Brazil, in terms of installed capacity and project portfolio. The result of the tender, which awarded more capacity to EGP that to any other participant, builds on the 11 MW of Fontes Solar I and II, the largest photovoltaic park in Brazil currently in operation, and an additional 254 MW awarded in November last year for the construction of the Ituverava plant. “We are excited about the great success of this tender, thanks to which we have become the leading company in solar energy in Brazil – said Francesco Venturini, CEO of EGP – The 818 MW in photovoltaic, the 700 MW wind energy, and the 102 MW in hydro-electric power gained since 2010 are a further confirmation of our growth strategy in Latin America. We chose to focus on technologies that are approaching or have already achieved grid parity, and in the creation of innovative solutions and synergies with other companies of the Enel Group in the region. “
