Khartoum – The Italian Development Cooperation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health of Sudan, has been raising awareness in the community of Um Shejera and six surrounding villages to improve the quality of services offered in the local hospital. On March 2015, the Italian Development Cooperation, under the program “Promoting Qualitative Health Services in Eastern Sudan” (PQHS) funded by the European Union but entirely run by the Italian Cooperation, has completed the Um -Shejera maternity ward’s rehabilitation works, 15 km away from the town of Gedaref, in Eastern Sudan.
