October 2nd, 2015 – Marcello Carrozzo calls himself a “social documentarist.” The internationally renowned photojournalist born in Ostuni (Brindisi) has had numerous exhibitions on Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Gaza, Iraq, Kenya, Congo, Thailand, Vietnam, India and Mongolia. His specific look on the world will soon be on display in Munich, where on October 8 at 7pm opens the exhibition “If this is food.” Promoted on the occasion of the Universal Exhibition in Milan, the exhibition – held at the Italian Institute of Culture, in Italian and German – was promoted by the Institute and the Forum Italia with the patronage of the Consulate General of Italy. From fishing in Lake Victoria – Kenya – to commercial river activities in the villages of Thailand, Vietnam, and India, all the way to Mongolia: food is a centerpiece of subsistence economies too often blackmailed by global logic. “If this is food” will remain open until November 6. Carrozzo has exhibited in the most prestigious Italian art galleries and has created reportages for the UN and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. (Gil)
