(October 6, 2015) More than one hundred works for the first and the most comprehensive ever assembled retrospective of Alberto Burri in over 35 years in the United States. From October 9 to January 6, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York will host “The Trauma of Painting”: exploring the beauty and complexity of the creative process behind the works of Burri. Bringing together more than 100 works, many of which have never been exhibited outside Italy, the exhibition highlights how Burri eased the line between painting and plastic relief, creating a new poetic painting-object.
