October 16th, 2015 – Textile designer Valentina D’Amato walks the runway in Indonesia, as her creations – individual, unique and of great artistic value – will be on display at the Lotte Shopping Avenue (prestigious shopping mall) in Jakarta. The exhibition – scheduled for October 18 – has been promoted by the Italian Institute of Culture of the city. The Sicilian artist will exhibit a mini collection of home decor and fashion accessories: scarves and pillows, all made of pure silk and hand painted. Her sources of inspiration are pieces of art, architecture, music, film and nature with its multitude of forms and colors. Everything is filtered through the artist’s sensibility and stylized in new ways where it combines dream, reality and innovation. Valentina D’Amato’s decorations and drawings are able to lead anyone to magical, mysterious, and metaphysical worlds. Her artistic creations are unique in their kind, entirely handmade in Italy, quintessential in quality, research, sense of beauty and tradition, and the result of a weighted mingling of cultures, ideas and visions. Textile design is a polyhedral discipline through which textile products of various kind are designed and engineered, intended for a multiplicity of uses: fashion (the prevailing reference field), design, furnishings and interior decoration (upholstery, wallpapers, carpets and curtains) and home textiles (bedding, tableware, bed).
