October 21st, 2015 – As of 30 September 2015, the SACE insured transactions portfolio amounted to €78.5 billion, for a 5% increase compared to 30 September 2014; gross premiums amounted to €361.6 million (+ 41%); claims settled amounted to €224.1 million (-31%); and net profit amounted to €433 million (+ 15%). These are the main results discussed yesterday by the SACE Board of Directors. “The signs of recovery in the Italian economy, driven by exports – said the Group in a statement – are also reflected on our results, confirming our role in supporting the competitiveness of Made in Italy”. In the first nine months of the year, SACE has guaranteed €6 billion of export and internationalization operations, for an increase of 27%. Particular dynamism was recorded in the countries of sub-Saharan Africa (such as Ethiopia and Kenya), where operations for €1 billion have been insured, almost quadrupling over the same period of 2014. The same goes for European countries outside the EU and the Community of Independent States (Turkey and Russia in particular), where €1.7 billion have been insured. Infrastructure and construction, the cruise and automotive sectors were the most active in the first nine months of the year, compensating for the slowdown in oil and gas, which remains the main sector in the portfolio. The credit insurance, surety, risk protection and factoring activities generated volumes for €15.6 billion. Worth noting is the 22% increase in turnover, which amounted to €2.2 billion, for receivables sold to firms. (Red)
