London – Friuli Venezia Giulia’s official international investiture came yesterday evening in London. The Italian region is one of the destinations that have officially entered top tourist destinations in the world for next year. The award ceremony for the destinations included in the “Best in Travel 2016” list compiled by Lonely Planet, took place at the Museum of Transport in London, in Covent Garden, in the presence of the Vice-President of the Region and Councillor for Productive Activities Sergio Bolzonello, and Marco Tullio Petrangelo, general manager of TurismoFVG, as well as other representatives from thirty world destinations (countries, regions, cities) selected by a pool of experienced journalists and authors of the famous travel guide. Tom Hall, Communication’s Director for Lonely Planet, presented the publishing project, available in English, German, Spanish, French, Russian and Italian, that each year announces “the places that can’t be missed, the destinations everyone will talk about,” that is to say, “the best in trends and tourist experiences for the coming year.” Friuli Venezia Giulia is the only Italian destination apart from Rome to make the cut.
