St. Helena – The Minister of Agriculture of California, Karen Ross, is the first representative of a US state government to sign the Charter of Milan, the cultural heritage of Expo 2015 that invites every citizen, association, company or institution to take their responsibility to ensure that future generations can enjoy the right to food through a sustainable use of the planet’s resources. The signing took place on November 8th in St. Helena (Ca), on the sidelines of the conference “re-Think Food” in Napa Valley. The event took place during the visit of the President of the Emilia-Romagna Region, Stefano Bonaccini, who these days is in California with a delegation featuring Simona Caselli (Councilor for Agriculture) and Palma Costi (Councilor for Productive Activities), as well as entrepreneurs and researchers from the territory. Presenting the Charter of Milan, mandated by the Italian Minister of Agriculture Maurizio Martina and already signed by Italian and foreign personalities such as President Sergio Mattarella and the Economics Nobel Laureate Amartya Sen, Stefano Bonaccini stressed the objectives of the mission: “the will to respond to the results and objectives of Expo, of which the Charter of Milan is the summary and road ahead.” (9Colonne)
