November 11th, 2015 – Some people called it “the charmer” (Metronews) and others “a genius” because thanks to him their “eyes are filled” and there are “great emotions” (Le Parisien). One thing is certain: Giuliano Peparini has conquered the very heart of France. Paris is in love with his “La légende du Roi Arthur,” which debuted in September and will go on stage until January 3 at the Palais des Congres in Paris (it will then tour France, Belgium and Switzerland until the summer of 2016). “I wanted to stage courtly love more than the adventures of chivalry,” explains Peparini. “A great feat for the Italian artist, who on this occasion wore multiple hats: director, choreographer and costumes and set design,” writes Le Figaro. After twenty years in the industry, this citizen of the world can boast an international curriculum first as dancer, then choreographer and finally director. Giuliano Peparini’s story begins in 1997 as a dancer at the Ballet National de Marseille Etoile with Roland Petit and continues to this day with “La légende du Roi Arthur”. In confirmation of his talent and creativity, Giuliano Peparini returned to confront the musical comedy as director and choreographer, supervisor of costumes and sets, earning a new success with audiences and critics in 2013. Peparini had already won the de Crystal Globes 2013 for Best Musical Comedy for his previous work as director and choreographer of “1789, Les Amants de la Bastille.” Preparatory work on “The légende du Roi Arthur” lasted nearly a year and a half; but the result is a show with an international and contemporary feel: 40 dancers, 450 costumes and breathtaking choreography with videos shot in Brittany. Meanwhile, Peparini is also getting ready for his next challenge. From December 20 to January 8, he’ll be at the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome with “The Nutcracker” by which he will return to work in Italy on ballet, signing the choreography, that opens the new season of the theater, the first under the direction of Eleanora Abbagnato.
