San Francisco – For the first time on the historic and prestigious stage of the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, “Being Leonardo da Vinci. An Impossible Interview” sees Massimiliano Finazzer Flory direct and act. The play, in San Francisco December 17-20 will be introduced by scientist and physicist Fritjof Capra of UC Berkeley, one of the most influential Leonardo scholars in the United States. For the occasion Finazzer Flory involved Jordan Shlain PhD in the role of the interviewer. The show brings to the stage authentic texts, depicting the real life of Leonardo through history of art and science, with period costumes and makeup that are a real reconstruction of the face of the genius. 67 questions shape an impossible interview, with Leonardo answering questions about his childhood, about his activities as a civilian and a military man, about becoming “a good painter”, on the relationship between painting and science, painting and sculpture, painting and music… “Leonardo” speaks of anatomy, botany and mathematics, discusses the Last Supper and the figures of the apostles, explains his passion for water, alludes to the fashion of the time, describes the motions of the soul, offers predictions on the flight of man and, finally, pronounces aphorisms to live our time.
