New Delhi – Fincantieri has signed a contract with Mazagon Dock Limited (MDL), a leading Indian shipyards controlled by the Ministry of Defense and specialized in the construction of military and offshore units, for the provision of technical advice within the Project 17A which includes the construction of seven stealth frigates commissioned by the Indian Navy to two MDL and Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (Grse) shipyards back in February. The important agreement allows the Group to establish a long-term cooperation with the two sites and to consolidate its commercial presence in the area. The consulting services will affect the functional design of the specific assets, the development of the detailed design for the two shipyards, the optimization of design and modular construction, training and technical assistance for all stages until delivery.
