Ouagadougou – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Burkina Faso signed in Ouagadougou the agreement for the implementation of the “Dredging, rehabilitation and development of the catchment area of Dori project”. The initiative aims to improve the living conditions of the population in the municipality of Dori, in the north-east of Burkina Faso, through safety and sustainable management initiatives dedicated to the river basin and the implementation of measures for the development of economic activities concerning agriculture and livestock. The initiative is part of a larger commitment of the Italian Cooperation in the area of the Sahel. The total amount of the initiative EUR 2,002,846.70, fully funded by the Development Cooperation Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, of which EUR 1,819,246.70 consists in donations as a direct contribution to the budget of Burkina and EUR 183,600.00 in direct management for experts that will provide the necessary technical assistance.
