(8 February 2016) On May 4-7 Itajaí, in the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina, hosts the second edition of Fimar, an Italian-Brazilian sea economy fair. Entirely dedicated to nautical technology, subcontracting and design, the initiative is the result of a series of agreements signed between the Italian Government, through the Ministry of Economic Development, UCINA Confindustria Nautica and the Santa Catarina government. The fair is organized by Brazil Planet in cooperation with UCINA, Federpesca, Assonautica Italiana and Acatmar, the Nautical Association of Santa Catarina. Participating Italian companies will be assisted by Italian Trade Agency officers, with an “Italian Point” that wants to be a place of welcome and information for operators and visitors, showcasing the important role played by the Italian boating industry on the world stage. The state of Santa Catarina is located in a privileged position in the Mercosur region, halfway between the two largest industrial centers of the continent: São Paulo and Buenos Aires. In particular, Santa Catarina, in addition to its 25 active sites, is the Brazilian state with the largest number of ports – distributed along the more than 500 kilometers of coast: the State boasts 5 of the 37 well-equipped ports in Brazil. The opportunities offered by this market will be presented during a press conference, to be held in Rome on February 11 at 11am. The meeting, which will be introduced by Unioncamere Secretary General Giuseppe Tripoli, will see the participation of Carlo Capria (Presidency of the Council of Ministers), Luigi Giannini, vice president of Federpesca, Alfredo Malcarne, president of Italian Assonautica, Riccardo Monti, president of the Italian Trade Agency, and Andrea Razeto, vice president of UCINA Confindustria Nautica.
