(24 February 2016) A very special mission brought to Finland 10 companies from Langa and Roero – in Cuneo – that took part in the 4th edition of “Italian Wine Selection” at the prestigious Ravintola Palace Hotel in Helsinki. The event, in addition to being the main industry promotional showcase in the country, also features workshops and B2B meetings, allows participating companies to introduce their products to licensed Finnish importers and Estonians opinion leaders, experts, wine lovers and journalists. The companies from the Cuneo Province, thanks to the organization of the Foreign Center for the Maritime Alps (CEAM), the Chamber’s operational arm for promotional events abroad, visited the main selling venues in the Finnish capital, meeting with buyers from the Finnish monopoly Alko and those supplying the HoReCa sector (Hotellerie-Restaurant-Café). Local organizers reported that almost all of importers in the Helsinki area took part in the event, a rather unique circumstance in part determined by the meaningful participation of the Piedmont delegation. In the coming months, regional operators will have to capitalize on the contacts made on this occasion. The Helsinki showcase provided excellent visibility to some of the best wines in the province: Barolo, Barbaresco, Dolcetto d’Alba, Dogliani, Nebbiolo d’Alba, Barbera d’Alba, Roero, Verduno Pelaverga, Roero Arneis and Moscato d’Asti. “This has been an excellent opportunity for our companies – said the President of Chamber of Commerce of Cuneo, Ferruccio Dardanello – who got in touch with this exciting market, with which we hope to establish new business relationships.” (Red)
