Venice – “Italy, in collaboration with France, will establish a doctoral program named after Valeria Solesin, the young Italian student killed in the terrorist attacks at the Bataclan in Paris, in a show of strength against violence and terror,” explained the Minister of Education, University and Research Stefania Giannini, on the sidelines of the Italy-France bilateral summit held in Venice. Six scholarships will go in favor of candidates studying in joint degrees on demography, sociology and related scientific fields, mirroring the tertiary training preferred by Valeria Solesin. The program is implemented within the university partnerships framework promoted by the Italo-French University (FIU), a platform that brings together Italians and French universities for cooperation and mobility purposes.
