(14 March 2016) “All my films concern me. They are always after what was experienced, demonstrating the primacy of life with its passions and failures.” This is Marco Bellocchio, whose films (and, consequently, also a bit of his life) will be the focus of the 23rd edition of Febiofest Prague International Film Festival, scheduled for March 17-25 at Cinestar Andel and CineStar Praha-Cerny Most. The festival – organized with the Italian Cultural Institute of the Czech capital – offers a retrospective of the director’s works, including “I pugni in tasca”, “Sangue del mio sangue” and “Buongiorno notte”. During the opening night, Bellocchio will receive from the President of the Festival, Fero Fenic, the Kristian Award “for his contribution to world cinema.” This year, the Festival celebrates Italian cinema with Bellocchio and the presentation of three other Italian films: A Bigger Splash” by Luca Guadagnino, “Mediterranea” by Jonas Carpignano and “L’attesa” by Piero Messina. The event also features a Culinary Cinema section dedicated to Italy on March 20, with the screening of the film “Trattoria” (2013) and the subsequent tasting of Italian specialties prepared by Michelin-starred chef de cuisine Alexander Koppe.
