(16 March 2016) “Voices of italian science in the USA” is the title of a series of scientific conferences held by Italian academics working in different New York institutions. The series, organized by the Italian Cultural Institute of New York, has its next scheduled appointment on Wednesday, March 23 with Lisa Bodei MD of the European Institute of Oncology. Alongside here there is Eitan Raz of New York University. Bodei, who graduated in 1995 in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Pisa, is an active member of the Italian Association of Nuclear Medicine since 1999 and of the European Association of Nuclear Medicine since 2002. She will soon start working in the Department of Radiology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Since 1996, Bodei has held numerous conferences and participated in national and international congresses, conferences and symposia. The conference – which will be moderated by cardiologist Francesco Santoni and Lorenzo Marinelli, radiologist and Molecular Imager – is scheduled at the headquarters of the Italian Cultural Institute at 6pm. The Institute launched the initiative in collaboration with The Medical Imaging Science Chapter and Cardiovasc. The Italians experts who take part in the meetings work at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and New York University. All the Italian doctors selected to speak strongly contributed to the scientific progress in their field, and their lives are characterized by interesting personal stories that, ultimately, led them to practice medicine in New York. “In describing their scientific results, these Italian talents will also share with us their life experiences between Italy and the United States,” writes the Institute in a note.
