(23 March 2016) Passion, creativity, and talent to bring forth all the beauties of Italy in just one picture? This is the challenge launched by the Consulate General of Italy in Chongqing turned into a competition. The winner, announced in recent days, was awarded a full 10 day trip to Italy. The awards ceremony for the photo competition “Meeting with You – Falling in Love with You”, organized by the Consulate in Chongqing was held at the Jia Xiang An Shan Art Museum. Since February 2015, when the Consulate opened its Visa Center, more than 40,000 visas have been issued: and so the Consulate wanted to give those who visited Italy in 2015 with a visa released by the Consulate the possibility to participate in this special competition. “Over the months – explains the Consulate – hundreds of requests for participation and lots of photographs, from enthusiasts and aspiring photographers, were delivered to our offices. The best 80 photos were selected by an exceptional jury, chaired by the Italian Consul General in Chongqing Sergio Maffettone and composed of professional photographers Zeng Chaohua, Liu Jiale and Lv Zhongmin”. The Consulate created two categories – ”camera” and “phone” – further subdivided into “landscapes” and “characters”: for each category the best three contestant were announced, who all received prizes such as a complete journey Italy, two return tickets Chongqing-Rome and useful accessories for their cameras and mobile phones.
