(30 March 2016) From the Maschio Angioino in Spaccanapoli, there are many wonders that radiates the city charm throughout the world. But there is a Naples that is not lighten by the sun, and yet has much to say in terms of charm and history. It is the underground Naples, “a fascinating underground journey” of the city that in the next few days will be the subject of a conference organized by the Institute of Italian Culture in Cologne: the appointment is Wednesday, April 6 (7 PM). The conference will be held by Enzo Albertini, president of the “Subterranean Naples” association. It is a path through a substrate rich in history and tied to the discovery of a rare heritage of great civil engineering works that date back to ancient times. Works that allow the creation of a journey into history going back to 2400 years, from the ancient Greeks to modern , 40 meters deep between tunnels and cisterns, the Aqueduct and the roman/greek theater, Second World war air-raid shelters, the Hypogeum Gardens and the Seismic Station “Arianna.” (Red)
