(30 March 2016) Nice-New Italian Cinema Events starts again with the promotion of the emerging Italian cinema: everything is ready for the 19th edition of the festival Nice Russia 2016, directed by Viviana del Bianco. The two stages, as every year, will take place almost simultaneously: in Moscow from the 5th to the 11th of April at the Cinema Illusion and from the 8th to the 13th of April in St. Petersburg, where Nice is renewing itself, presenting the films at the Avrora Cinema, the oldest cinema in town. The event is sponsored by the Embassy of Moscow, by St. Petersburg Consulate and by the Italian cultural institutes of the two cities. The selection this year is once again particularly diverse, including works of very different genres and styles: “Chlorine” (drama) by Lamberto Sanfelice, “I, Harlequin” (comedy/drama) by Giorgio Pasotti and Matteo Bini, ” God willing “(comedy) by Edoardo Falcone, “My name is Maya ” (drama) by Tommaso Agnese, “Italo” (comedy) Alessia Worse, “Volatile Weather with sSunny Intervals Likely” (comedy / drama) by Marco Pontecorvo, “So far so good” by Roan Johnson (comedy). Nice 2016 selection for Russia confirms six films already presented in the US last November and is refreshed by the addition of a comedy (“So far so good”) as evidence that the festival selects more and more different kinds, returning to a 360-degree view of the new Italian cinema, like Viviana del Bianco explains.
