Beijing – The International Association of Catalysis Societies (IACS), on a proposal by an international selection committee, awarded Professor Palo Fornasiero of University of Trieste, associate to the Iccom-Cnr Institute and afferent to INSTM Consortium, the prestigious international award IACS Heinz Heinemann 2016 for the significant contribution in the last four years in the development of catalysis. Catalysis is a chemical phenomenon through which the speed of a chemical reaction undergoes changes for the intervention of a substance (or a mixture of substances) said catalyst. Motivation makes specific mention of the role of Professor Fornasiero in the development of nanostructured catalysts. The prize, which is awarded every four years, will be presented during the 16th International Congress on Catalysis (ICC), to be held in Beijing in early July, during which Professor Fornasiero will hold a plenary lecture on his recent search results .
