(April 7 2016) A many voices discussion joins Tunisia and Friuli Venezia Giulia in the name of democracy and cooperation. “The democratic process in Tunisia and the prospects for cooperation and development in the Mediterranean basin” is the title of the forum scheduled for Saturday, April 9, at the Region headquarters in Trieste, under the project “DevolepMed”. At the center of the forum, to be attended by numerous representatives of different institutions, there are the issue of cooperation and the promotion of democracy in the North African country. To enrich the event the contribution of the “Quartet for the Tunisian national dialogue”, Nobel Peace Prize in 2015. In the reception hall of the Region headquarters, beginning at 10.30 AM, after the greetings of the Mayor of Trieste Roberto Cosolini and Minister Plenipotentiary of the Embassy of Tunisia in Italy Mohamed Ali Ben Abid and intervention Assessor Peroni, the floor will be given to the “Quartet for the Tunisian dialogue”. Friuli Venezia Giulia supports the Tunisian democratization process through practical assistance for the activities of civil society organizations and the development of cultural and economic relations, as an example to be pursued in a context – the Mediterranean area – characterized by conflict and tensions that generate suffering, poverty and eradication.
