Gozo. The Observatory on Tourism in the European Islands (OTIE) will be hosting the fifth edition of its Summer School on Malta’s Gozo Island 31 July – 6 August. This year’s edition is entitled “The Challenges of Cultural Tourism in the European Islands”. The course is being offered in collaboration with the Islands & Small States Institute at the University of Malta, and has received high praise from a number of European organizations. Participation is open to students from European universities, and in particular from within a network of island universities. Lectures, in English, will be taught by instructors from the University of Malta and by international experts, who will present case studies on best practices for the development of cultural tourism in remote areas.
