Philadelphia. A wearable system and totally portable developed to compensate for the hand function in stroke patients. This is the result of the study “The hRing as a Wearable Haptic Interface for Extra Robotics and Systems Lab, SIRSLab, the department of Information Engineering and Mathematical Sciences, University of Siena, which was recently awarded the prize for best demonstration at the international conference “IEEE Haptics Symposium 2016” in Philadelphia. The research team, composed by Professor Domenico Prattichizzo and researchers Giovanni Spagnolo, Irfan Hussain, Claudio Pacchierotti and Gionata Salvietti, has prepared an innovative wearable instrument, the sixth robotic finger, studied and used for the compensation of hand function in patients affected by stroke in the chronic state.
