Washington – The USA loves fashion from Lombardia: exports of clothing, textiles and accessories in 2015 exceeded one billion euro, an increase of 12.2% over the previous year. The United States is the second largest international partner in the fashion sector after France and ahead of Hong Kong and Germany. The major exporters of fashion are Milan with €600 million, representing more than half of the Lombard total (+ 11.5% in one year), Como about 118 million (+ 5.4%) and Bergamo with 67 million (+ 26.7%). These are followed by Varese and Brescia who are both growing strongly at + 59% and + 31.6% respectively. Fashion represents one-ninth of Lombard exports to the USA. (9Colonne)
