Yangon – Cooperation between Italy and Myanmar is enriched by a new element: Ye Ko Naing, a young Burmese student at the Hospitality and Catering Training Academy (HCTA) in Yangon, who started his studies at ALMA, the International School of Italian Cuisine. The HCTA is one of the projects implemented by the Daw Khin Kyi Foundation, created by Aung San Suu Kyi in memory of his mother. Thanks to an effective collaboration with ALMA, the Italian Embassy in Yangon and Senator Albertina Soliani and the Giuseppe Malpeli Italy- Burma Association, Ye Ko Naing will be invited at the Colorno Palace in Italy where he can attend the International Culinary Programme of the renowned Italian cooking school. “Ever since I visited the HCTA, in recent months, I immediately thought of a collaboration with Italian excellence in the field of food,” said the Ambassador Pier Giorgio Aliberti, who sends his best wishes to the young chef apprentice.
