Rio de Janeiro – Italy will be at the next Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016 in which it will be confronting three couples in beach volleyball tournaments. With the renovation of the Olympic rankings, Daniele Lupo-Paul Nicolai, Alex Ranghieri-Adrian Carambula Marta Menegatti and Viktoria Orsi Toth- have in fact earned their pass to Brazil. For the first time in the history of Beach Volleyball at the Olympic Games in Atlanta 1996, Italy will deploy two teams for the men’s tournament: Nicolai-Wolf (already present in London 2012) and Ranghieri-Carambula confirming the pair like in the past, and for the female team (Marta Menegatti-Viktoria Orsi Toth). The Blues (Azzurri) are assured participation in Rio 2016, reaching 243 (130 men, 113 women) in 26 different disciplines, with 96 individual pass. (9Colonne)
