Brussels – Minister of Cultural Heritage, Activities and Tourism, Dario Franceschini during his speech at the Council of the EU culture ministers held in Brussels: “A review of the European audiovisual rules and incentives to co-productions and this directive are a step in the right direction.” The revision of the rules – stated Franceschini – is necessary because of the great changes occurring in the digital world with the multiplication of channels of access and distribution of content and the emergence of new business models. The new directive recognizes the principle of cultural diversity, which is very important to Italy, and introduces some important novelties regarding regulations of the European co-productions. ” (9Colonne)
