Nov. 10 – Pier Luigi Malesani, Secretary General of Copeam – the Permanent Conference of the Mediterranean is in Cairo with Faleh Al Mutairi, Deputy Secretary General and Director of the Arab League Media to define the terms of a co-production project. Together, they intend to produce “Refugee Stories,” which aims to raise awareness among European and Arab audiences alike on the issue of migrations. The Arab League declared its interest in the initiative and will support it in all locations. Malesani also met with Essam El Amir, Director of the Egyptian Radio and Television Union, to check the status of a TV co-production on “Inter-Rives,” which sees the participation of Egyptian TV. Malesani invited his Egyptian counterparts to the next Copeam Annual Conference to be held in Malta March 26-28 2015 on the theme “Migration of peoples in the Mediterranean: the role of the media.”
