Maputo – The Italian Embassy in Maputo organizes from June 6 to 11 a week of cultural events, which include two major initiatives. The first – a classical concert by pianist Daniel Riscica – held on Monday, June 6 at 19:30, in the Teatro Avenida in Maputo. From Tuesday, June 7 the film festival “8½ – Italian Festa do Cinema” offering recent films by Italian filmmakers such as: Call me Francis (Chiamatemi Francesco) by Daniele Luchetti; Tale of Tales (Il racconto dei racconti) by Matteo Garrone; Pinocchio by Enzo D’Alo; What a lovely surprise (Ma che bella sorpresa) by Alessandro Genovesi; They call me Jeeg (Lo chiamavano Jeeg Robot) by Gabriele Mainetti; and Quo Vado? By Gennaro Nunziante. The Festival programme, now in its eighth edition, also includes special screenings and creative activities for toddlers, organised in collaboration with the Italian School of Maputo “Giovanni Falcone.” (9Colonne)
