(June 15, 2016) “Anything to say?” the touring monument by Davide Dormino continues its tour in all of the major European cities. The monument has visited Berlin (Alexanderplatz), Dresden (Theaterplatz), Geneva (Place des Nations), Strasbourg (Place Klèber), Paris (Place Georges Pompidou) and Tours (Gare de Tours) followed by its next stop in Belgrade at the Devet Festival (10-18 June) thanks to the G12@HUB and the Italian Cultural Institute with the support of Radisson Artist Residency Programme. The work is an ode to freedom of expression; bronze statues of Edward Snowden, Julian Assange and Chelsea Manning, the masterminds behind Wikileaks are depicted sitting on three chairs. Next to them is a fourth empty chair, offered to whomever wishes to join the three. “The fourth chair is for us- written on the artist’s website- for those who need to say something or for who simply wants to join the three figures who represent courage and the desire to know and the refusal to be controlled”. “Anything to say?” was built in the Antica Fonderia Mariani of Pietrasanta (Lucca) and has also visisted Perugia in Italy, last April 6-10 for the occasion of the International Journalism Festival.
