Lisbon – This evening the artist Antonio Rovaldi will be exhibited at the Italian Cultural Institute in Lisbon as part of the project ‘Frente a frente: a curator an artist’, coordinated by Professor Claudio Zambianchi from La Sapienza University in Rome. The exhibition of photographs by Antonio Rovaldi, titled ‘Morning’ is presented and curated by Marta Silvi and is part of a series of exhibitions dedicated to contemporary Italian art in the former Chapel of the ICI opened earlier this year hosting exhibitions by contemporary artists on a two-month basis. The exhibition will open at 19:00 and will be followed by a talk between Antonio Rovaldi curator Marta Silvi about his art and issues related to the perception of space and landscape explored through different media: photography, video, sculpture, drawing: the boundary that separates the physical element from the mental one, the real from the imaginary, is the focus of the artist’s reflection. In Rovaldi’s ‘Morning’ 2016 exhibition in Lisbon he examines the emotional and physical state before leaving for a trip: the artist’s gaze seems to vanish before our eyes in a series of photographs and a pile of newspaper clippings.
